Everyone starts out in the gym and wants to lose weight. You start with your trainer and a week later you jump on the scale and you’re upset because your weight has not gone down, but up!! Immediately you’re ready to strangle your personal trainer and throw him or her under the bus. Why are you gaining weight straight away when you start out at the gym? There are a few answers to that question and they’re not all as bad as you think. I’ll start by saying that anytime you start a training program, throw out the scale to start and focus on getting great workouts and feeling great. Give your training 4 to 6 weeks to measure results before jumping to conclusions.
